Miles Patricola for Newport Beach City Council
About Me
Newport Beach is my hometown. My first job was at Rothschild’s restaurant, my family’s business. I folded napkins, helped file expense reports, refilled the ice bin behind the bar and I was paid in Golden Spoon ice cream. I grew up in the Port Streets, went to school at Andersen Elementary, CDM High School and then Orange Coast College where I studied Sociology. I started organizing Town Halls and local volunteer events on my days off from serving world class Italian food and community engagement became an increasingly larger part of my life.
My hobby evolved into a career when a university professor at UCI asked me to work on his congressional campaign and I joined his team. After that, my path was set. I made a decision to dedicate my career to supporting and improving our community by staying actively engaged with local leaders, understanding the issues people care about, asking people to share their perspectives and building coalitions to find the best solutions.

Over the past eight years, I have managed offices for ballot measure campaigns, led voter registration teams, and worked with several humanitarian nonprofit organizations such as the Human Rights Campaign and the Nature Conservancy. These experiences have equipped me with the skills and insights necessary to join the City Council and serve our city.

Although the role of a City Council member is considered part-time, I will make it my full-time commitment. My campaign has earned the support of former City Council members and local leaders who are helping me prepare to serve you from day one. The needs and interests of Newport Beach residents will always be my top priority and I will honor the responsibility of being your representative. I’ve served you Italian food as your waiter and I’ve served our community as a local volunteer. I’ve learned how to follow and now I’m ready to lead. This city is my hometown and I’m in this race to be a voice for everyone who lives here.

Real leaders focus the spotlight on the issues, not on themselves. My campaign is about pushing back on airport expansion, preventing mooring rate hikes in the harbor, protecting our coastal communities from rising sea levels, responding to the rise in E-Bike popularity among young adults, supporting our police, helping the homeless, improving the current plans to build affordable housing, being a vocal advocate for women’s rights to reproductive healthcare and supporting women who travel here from out of state for reproductive healthcare services.
My campaign is about you. My lifelong connection to Newport Beach has prepared me to serve as your City Council member with dedication, integrity, and a clear vision for the betterment of our community. With respect, humility and with a bit of courage, I’m asking for your vote.
